We were 11 in the group who braved Anawangin last weekend. And to say the least, we survived (thank goodness for skillful companions haha)!!! HOORAY! For a first timer like me in an isolated island in Pundaquit in Zambales, it was pretty much an exciting and out-of-ordinary adventure.
No electricity, no cellphone signal, no hotels or inns to accommodate you. It was literally back to basics! I really felt disconnected to the world, which I think was not bad at all. You got to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life sometimes. And this trip was a great escape.
Sharing some photo outtakes from our Anawangin trip.
We also got to visit another island called Capones where the water is much clearer. We had to wear lifevests when we swam here because the water was too deep even if we were just a few steps from the shore. Oh boy, did I enjoy floating around! LOL.
I think I enjoyed the sun and the beach too much because I went home really tanned than I planned to be. I’m happy to cross “camp by the beach and sleep under the stars” off my imaginary bucket list. And a whole lot more of “firsts” which I’ll just keep to myself and my friends. 😉
How’s summer for you? ANG INIT, I know!
P.S. Will “try” to post more often here. I promise! Make sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram for more updates!

I missed the vibes of Anawangin Coves. The perfect mix of sea, ashen grey sand, hikable beachside trails, the agoho trees and view of the Cawag mountain range. I remember we had our teambuilding activity here from my recent employer.
