Mix and matching eyeshadows can be bothersome especially if you don’t know which colors go well together! Good thing the Avon Eyeshadow Duet was released – the solution to this dilemma! Avon gave me four tubes to try… let’s see how it fares.

First is the Maize eyeshadow duet that puts Latte and Lemon Ice together in one tube. The names sound refreshing! And I instantly fell in love with Latte – a deep brown color with shimmer. Speaking of shimmer, all of the shades included in the eyeshadow duets are shimmery to metallic finishes. So don’t expect to find matte in this collection.

Next is the Black Violet, a combination of Black Star and Purple. I can imagine this color combination perfect for a rocker chic.

And then we have Apricot Mist. No, it’s not composed of apricot orange-y shades, but of this warm Bronze Goddess and Golden combination. Bronze Goddess came in as second fave, next to Latte! Golden, on the other hand, looks too glittery for my liking.

Last one is Storm, which consists of metallic combination of Sparkling Sapphire and Silver Sensation. These two shades plus the Black Star (for the outer v) makes for an awesome smokey eye combination.

Now we are done with the swatches, let’s go to my quick review! I like that they are all very pigmented, easy to blend and glides on my skin smoothly. I don’t even need a brush to apply this, I simply use my fingers to dab and blend on my lids. Plus points also for the sleek and handy packaging! They’re so tiny I can fit all four right into my palm.

However, staying power is an issue that I noticed while using these eyeshadow duets. It can only last 3 hours max on me before it creases or starts to fade. It’s quite understandable, though, given that these are cream eyeshadows and my eyelids are the oily type. This is best suited for normal/combination type.
