Hey guys! I know A LOT has happened this January, but I want to end this month with a positive note. As such, I have reached out to a blogger friend of mine, Kath Rivera, to share with us some inspiring thoughts about self-care, health, beauty, and more.
But first, let me give a short intro about Kath! She’s the blogger of Dear Kitty Kittie Kath wherein she writes about lifestyle, beauty, health, and mommy-related topics. Her blog Dear Kitty Kittie Kath recently got included in the Top 100 Philippines Blog.
I’m beyond happy and proud of her achievements! We’ve known each other since the earlier blogging era 2012 (or was it 2013? sorry for my hazy memory haha!) and although I took on many blog hiatus, she continued on. And look at her now, she already made a mark in the blogging industry! 🤗

5 Questions With Kath Rivera of Dear Kitty Kittie Kath blog
You seem to be aging backward! What are your health and beauty tips for maintaining your ageless beauty?
Really?! Thanks for the compliment 😊 There are so many things to consider if you really want to maintain ageless beauty. For me, it will always be a holistic approach – taking care of the inside and outside. In order to achieve ageless beauty, you have to consider different aspects of life like physical, emotional and mental health too.
I take anti-aging supplements like collagen and rosehips extracts then I use anti-aging skincare products day and night plus I use sunscreen daily. I also try to wear less makeup when going outside and do errands.
How do you practice self-care?
When I was younger, I thought of self-care as high maintenance like going to salons for hair care, buying expensive products for skincare, or splurging on branded things.
Little did I know that it’s not expensive and it starts from a basic and doable everyday routine. You don’t need to shell out money in order to do this kind of thing. Self-care for me focuses on physical, emotional and mental health. Get enough sleep as much as possible, have sustainable and proper nutrition.

You don’t need to jump in diet fads and fallacy, you just need to watch what you eat. If you like red meat, try to replace it with white meat. Eat more vegetables and fruits and drink lots of water. Find time to exercise even if it’s just 20 mins a day. Invest in ‘me time’ at home by reading your favorite books, watching your favorite movie and having a social media detox.
As for mental health, talk about your feelings. Your family and friends are always there for you, trust me. Right now, I’m doing my best to be in the fittest shape I can be. I love Yoga that’s why I practice regularly.
What’s your usual skincare routine like?
I have a very simple skincare routine of cleanse, tone, and moisturize. I do the steps religiously day and night.
I also use a makeup remover to remove traces of makeup. Number one rule- don’t sleep with your makeup still on your face.
I have these essentials in two more bags: hair comb, lip balm, MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy and Coral Bliss, Chanel Rouge Allure in Virevoltante, compact mirror, hand sanitizer, hand soap, wet wipes, tissue, contact lens solution, and facial mist.
Tip/s to aspiring vloggers/bloggers who look up to you as their inspiration?
When someone asks me how to be a blogger or why blogging as my job, I throw back a question “Why do you want to blog?” If you see blogging because of the perks and privileges, then think again! Being a content creator is not easy. It’s a one-man job – you write, cover events, take photos, post on social media and more to that. Blog or vlog because you want to share genuine content and information that will benefit the readers.

Always be true to yourself. Write content from the heart. Don’t write for the money, for the statistics, or for the sake of pleasing others. Trust me, when you do darating yung araw that you’ll see and reap the fruits of your labor. Be persistent. Be an inspiration. Don’t compete with others, compete with yourself so you’ll always strive for the best.
