Here’s everything you need to know about Online Jobs PH – a job posting website in the Philippines where I applied to and eventually got a work from home job (full-time). I’ve been enjoying the work from home lifestyle way before the lockdown happened. So I thought it would be nice to share my experience with those who are wondering how exactly to register on Online Jobs PH and how to apply for home-based jobs.
If you’ve been working from home for the past few months now because of the lockdown and liking this whole work from home lifestyle, chances are you don’t want to go back to the traditional office setup anymore! Or if you stumbled across here because you wanted to explore work from home jobs in the Philippines through Online Jobs PH, then this blog post is for you!
A little background. I quit my corporate job last June 2019 and have been working from home since September 2019. You can read all about How I Quit My Corporate Job & Got A Work From Home Full-Time Job in the Philippines for the full story.
I’m not paid to write this nor am I affiliated with Online Jobs PH. This is all about my personal experience with the said website. Your experience with the site may differ from mine but hopefully, you find success too.
Okay, enough with the chitchat. Let’s begin!
Everything You Need to Know About Online Jobs PH
About Online Jobs PH
Online Jobs PH is an online job marketplace created specifically for Filipinos looking for remote online work opportunities. Its founder, Utah-based John Jonas, was impressed when he first hired someone from the Philippines back in 2006. Soon after many of his colleagues were asking him for help in finding Filipino employees. That’s how Online Jobs PH was started. Their goal is to connect the Filipino workforce with business owners across the world.
What jobs are available on Online Jobs PH?
There are thousands of jobs posted across all sectors who want to hire Filipinos, so you will most likely find one that suits your skillset.
Here are the main job categories you can see on Online Jobs PH:
- Office & Admin (Virtual Assistant)

- Writing
- Marketing & Sales
- Advertising
- Web Development
- Webmaster
- Graphics & Multimedia
- Software Development / Programming

There are sub-categories under each one of the main categories too. But I’ll not go into details, just see them for yourself when you create an account.
Employment type:
- Freelance
- Part-time
- Full-time
I think it’s nice that they offer these different types of employment. If you just want to test the water, you can simply apply for part-time and see how it goes.
How Online Jobs PH work
The typical process is to:
- Create an account
- Complete your profile
- Search and apply for jobs OR wait for employers to contact you
- Get interviewed
- Get hired
- Get to work (from the comfort of your own home)
- Get paid (through PayPal, Payoneer Western Union, etc.)
All the jobs will be compensated. If hired, you will be paid for a set amount of money each month. None are commission-based or performance-based. It’s FREE to register and apply for jobs on Online Jobs PH. You will absolutely not pay for anything! Online Jobs PH will not get anything from you nor any portion of your salary. They get their profit from employers who pay Online Jobs PH for helping them connect you to them (the employer).
So if a potential employer asks you to pay them, RUN! That shouldn’t be the case and hopefully, you don’t encounter anything like that. Report them.
How to register on Online Jobs PH
Go to Online Jobs PH and click ‘Sign Up’
This is how the registration/sign up page on Online Jobs PH looks like. Click the ‘I Want To Work’ tab. Fill out your name, email address, and password. Tick the necessary boxes. Answer the captcha question. And hit the ‘Register’ button. You will then receive a confirmation via email, click the link they will send to verify your account. Your profile will not show on search results until you have clicked the link they sent.
Login to your newly created account
This is what the login page looks like. Enter your email address and the password you’ve set when you registered.
Once logged in, you will see the following page to create your profile.
Create your profile
Here’s what the ‘Create Profile’ page looks likes. You have to input the following:
- job title
- summary of your skills
- desired salary
- highest education attainment
- experience (ex. 3 years of social media marketing experience)
- current employment status
- number of hours you want to work in a week
- date of birth
- phone number
- website (you can put the link of your portfolio here if you have any)
- gender
- consent to use TimeProof
Hit the ‘Done’ button once everything is filled out. You can also skip this part and just go back when you’re ready. So no pressure.
Rate your skills
Next you will be directed to the page where you have to rate your skills.
Each category tab includes different skills. You can also choose many skills from multiple categories. Example: you can choose skills from both the ‘Marketing & Sales’ tab and the ‘Writing’ tab.
Just be careful not to lie with the rating of your skills. Once you’re done, click the ‘I’m Done With Ratings’ button. You can also skip this part and just go back once you’re ready to complete it.
Check your ‘My Account’ page
After completing your profile and rating your skills, you will be directed to your account page.
This is a portion of how your account page looks like. You’re still not done and will be required to do some additional necessary steps to increase your chances of getting a job.
Read the warning message and click the ‘Okay, Got It’ button.
Strengthen your profile by clicking the ‘Begin Verification’ button. This is important because you cannot apply for a job when you have a low ID proof score. It’s one way of telling the employers that you are a real person.
Verify your identity to increase ID Proof Score
Verify your identity by uploading a valid government ID and a selfie holding it, by address verification (optional), and by mobile phone verification (optional). Once you completed all these steps, you get an 80 ID Proof Score already. Enough to get you started to apply for a job.
But wait there’s more!
Once you return to your account page, scroll down a bit and you will see this part that says ‘Pro tip: increase your chances of getting jobs by…’
Pro tip: increase your chances of getting jobs on Online Jobs PH
According to Online Jobs PH, here are some more steps to increase your chances of landing an online job:
- Register for EasyPay
- Taking a proficiency test
- Adding a profile picture (Required)
- Connecting your Facebook account
Among the 4 listed, I only did the 3rd and 4th which are super easy to accomplish so best not to skip them. Yes, I didn’t take any proficiency tests (yet). I got lucky the employers who contacted me didn’t seem to care about any proficiency test results. But of course, it’s all up to you. No harm in trying.
So now that you’re done with those above-mentioned steps, check your account page again. Review the details and make sure everything is correct.
Also, go to Account > My Profile. That’s how your profile page will look like to potential employers. Review the info and edit as needed.
Okay, now you’re all set to look for an online job! Exciting!

I shared 3 helpful tips on how to get hired quicker on Online Jobs PH, so continue reading until the end of this blog post. 😉
💡 PRO TIP: There’s a limit to the number of applications you can send per day. You can only send a max of 10, so apply with care. Keep in mind that a more thought out application is more likely to get hired.
My experience with Online Jobs PH
It was easy and straightforward. As with any job application process, as long as you are honest with your self and you know your capabilities, then employers will eventually see through you. Never include a skill you have zero knowledge about – you will eventually get caught and you will just waste your time.
I think the reason I was able to get a job quickly is because of the skills and background I have. Digital marketers are so in demand these days. So I suggest learn the basics of digital marketing, copywriting, social media, Facebook/Google ads, etc.

After completing my profile and applying for jobs, I immediately got some job interview requests. It’s funny because I think I declined one or two in my first few weeks of job hunting. Only because I was shy and felt awkward during video interviews. Yes, expect video call, or the very least, voice call over Skype. What was I thinking? Right! Good thing I overcome that fear and here we are now – a success story. 😂

It’s worth noting that I didn’t install the TimeProof software. Fortunately, my employer didn’t require me to. What is TimeProof software? It’s a software that records when you work and reports your time to your employer. I think it’s kind of creepy to have my employer (or anyone for that matter) to monitor every move I do, every site I go to, and screenshot them as proof of work. So if you’re worried about that, make sure to bring it up with your potential employer during the interview.
3 tips to get hired quicker on Online Jobs PH
Complete your profile
No employer wants to see an incomplete profile. So take completing your profile seriously, especially the skills summary part. Always double-check if there’s any typo. Answer everything truthfully. Aim for Online Jobs PH ID proof higher than 50. ID proof is not a measure of skill, rather it’s used by employers to check applicants who have a fake identity or not. You can increase your ID proof by completing your profile.
Read the job post carefully
This is pretty obvious. But here’s the thing – most job seekers don’t read the job post completely. They skim and hit apply without really going through every single detail.
I noticed some employers include a special note somewhere in the job post to make sure the applicant reads everything. For example, they will ask you to put a certain phrase/word in the email subject when you contact them. Why? This filters potential applicants as the employer can easily see who really read everything and discard those applicants who didn’t even put the effort to completely read the job posting. All those who didn’t put that special phrase/word will most likely be put to the trash and there goes your chance. Sad, right? Avoid this mistake.
Send a personalized cover letter
When you apply for online jobs, make sure to send out personalized cover letters. This is not normally required but it somehow shows how professional and serious you are with your job application. Just be sure not to copy and paste the same thing – they could tell it’s templated. How can you personalize it? Indicate in the cover letter that you’re interested in the specific job/position, how it aligns with your skills, and mention their company. Here’s a FREE cover letter template – just edit it out with your own details.

The traditional office setup don’t really work for me that’s why even then, I know I have always been inlove and wanted to be a digital freelancer. Although there are a lots of adjustments made in becoming full-time, being on the Internet is sometimes overwhelming na tipong di ko na alam kung paano magsimula. Kaya it’s nice to read a post like this kasi it encourages me to look for more job opportunities online. I love Jobs PH, nakapag work part-time din ako dito before but then I got busy w/ other things online. So I guess it’s time to work my way up again! Thank youuu for this very detailed guide! 🙂
I think the freedom or flexibility that comes with working from home is what makes it ideal for many people. Glad you’re doing freelance now and not stuck in the traditional office setup anymore. Good luck, Khae! 🤗

This is very helpful! I used to get my jobs at 199jobs. The problem on that website is more on Filipino so medyo low yung rates for the workload. Will try online jobs ph. 🙂
I don’t know 199jobs, but yeah baka nga low yung rates nila. Glad you find this post very helpful! Good luck! 😁
Rating your skills for me is a must, because this is where your client will see if you meet the standards of their job post. Also this will lead you to right job that suits your skills and interest.
One of the effective way to get accepted at Online Jobs PH, is reading the description of their job post because some of them left a magic word that will ask you to put on your cover letter just to let them know if you really read the description of the job that they are posting. Also, a short but meaningful cover letter attracts clients too!
Hi Adam! Yes, that’s right – they usually leave a magic word that you need to put on your cover letter. So it’s really important to read from start til the end. 😁
I have been working from home since 2017! However, some of my clients are local so I go to their establishments from time to time. Now that the pandemic happened, I lost 1 client. THat is why I am looking for another job! Good thing I came across this one. This is super helpful for my job hunting!
Wow! Good platform to make money at home! ❤️ Thanks for this good article Ms Hazel! ❤️
Wow very helpful. Thanks for sharing a detailed information.
